Mother Gothel takes the dagger from a drawer in which she keeps her sunglasses. Sunglasses? They weren't invented until 1929.

Flynn's sacrifice, though noble, is unnecessary. He could certainly have waited until Rapunzel healed his mortal wound before cutting off her hair. And he might've cut it a little longer, giving the girl a less choppy look while keeping that shard of glass a safer distance from her jugular vein. More...
